7 Reasons Why You Should Choose Squarespace
When I first was playing around with the idea of starting up my own website, I had heard the recommendation of Squarespace. After looking into a little bit I knew it was the platform I wanted to try first.
You see, the short time I was going to school for Website Development I was apart of a group who was actually in charge of designing the website for the school, which was hosted on WordPress.
Before we could actually work on the website, we had to create our own demo websites using WordPress. We only met once a week, and honestly, by the time we would meet up again, I forgot how to do things. One of the times I could not figure out how to even log in.
So, a couple of years later (after dropping out of school) when I was thinking about starting my own website, I knew I didn’t want to deal with WordPress.
You see it all the time in Facebook groups, people complain about the headaches and frustration of working on WordPress like their site breaking or getting hacked and the endless list of plugins to sift through and connect.
Once I started using Squarespace I fell in love with designing websites. It was seriously so much fun to me.
Was it frustrating at times? Yes, of course. Learning new things can get frustrating. But I was able to work through the problems by researching and learning from other people.
I taught myself how to DIY my own website. Not just for one of my businesses, but for all three.
I am not saying no one should use WordPress. WordPress is definitely a great option, it is a very strong platform. But it isn’t the best option for everyone. It depends on your business, how techie you are, and how much time you want to spend working on your website for things like maintenance.
But today, I wanted to share with you the reasons why I love Squarespace and why you will too!

1. All in one platform
One of the big differences between Squarespace and WordPress is that Squarespace is an all-in-one platform. Meaning you get hosting, security, templates, blogging, and e-commerce all in one place.
You don’t have to search through thousands of plugins to try to find the right one only to end up pulling out your hair in frustration trying to connect it with your website. Everything is on Squarespace and readily available to you to use with the click of a button.
2. Easy to Use
Squarespace is known for its drag and drop feature. Want to rearrange something on one of your pages? Just click, drag to where you want it, and drop it in place. And you get to see the changes happening live so you instantly know if it’s what you want. Instead of having to click preview and opening up a new page or having to go back in and find your change so you can undo it.
The backend of the website is straightforward so you can easily learn your way around and quickly find what you are looking for instead of getting lost.
With how easy Squarespace is to use, it makes for the perfect platform for new entrepreneurs and the non techies.
3. Clean and professional templates
The design of your website is crucial to the success of your business. Your website is like your 24-hour salesperson, always there ready and waiting for the next client or customer.
So you need it to look professional otherwise you will end up scaring people away. An unprofessional website tells people the brand and business is also unprofessional and not taken seriously.
Luckily, Squarespace has beautiful, clean, modern templates available for you to choose from. No matter which one you pick, it will immediately have your website looking professional.
The best part? They are all free!

4. No need to code
A big turnoff for people who want to DIY their website is that they think it means they need to know how to code. Well my friend, with Squarespace that is not true!
You can easily build a beautiful, professional, custom website with Squarespace without having to code a single thing.
BUT if you do know how to code and want even more customization, Squarespace gives you the option to add code. How awesome is that!?
5. Mobile responsive
All templates are automatically mobile ready so you don’t have to worry much about designing for mobile. It’s still a good idea to check and make sure everything is working correctly on mobile, but it isn’t a hassle.
Squarespace does it in a way so your mobile design looks just as clean and professional as the desktop version of the template. Unlike some other platforms’ templates that claim to be mobile responsive but end up appearing clunky with everything misplaced.
Having a mobile ready template is extremely important for your business. Not only because most people view websites on their phones now, but also because Google prefers mobile responsive websites.
As I mentioned earlier, I often hear people on WordPress complaining about their website getting hacked. To me, that sounds scary and very frustrating.
With Squarespace, that is not a problem at all because you have security built into your website. It’s part of the all-in-one platform. This means you don’t constantly have to be checking for updates or security issues. *Whew* What a load off your shoulders!
7. Great Support
If you do ever happen to run into any problems, the Squarespace support team is right there waiting to help you. And if you need any help getting things set up in Squarespace, you can search their help guides which are super simple to follow step by step tutorials.
Imagine that. A support team that’s actually supportive.
So there you have it. 7 amazing reasons to love Squarespace. Seriously, I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love using Squarespace and it makes owning a website actually fun. Or maybe that part is just me.
